CRiT (aka CRT)

Critical Race Theory, with roots in activist anti-racist legal scholarship, is often applied as a lever to transform schools and higher education. We apply critical race theory as a systems change model, fostering authentic leaders, educators, and scholars to integrate and sustain daily anti-racist practices.

Core Tenets of Applied CRiT

Intersectional Racism is Everywhere and All the Time

Also framed as the permanence of racism, this tenet includes numerous aspects of operational anti-Black racism, including the social construction of race, microaggressions, colorblindness, redlining, intersectionality-based oppression, whiteness as property, and a critique of white liberalism. In short: white supremacist racism shapes global realities.
